🚀 Rapid Application Development with the App Builder

Getting Started ​

The App Builder provides a new improved way to create data tables, data entry forms, charts and maps. It offers more features while being faster and more stable than our legacy tools. The App Builder is an intuitive tool with enhanced usability. The Run & Build App feature allows users to see changes directly on the screen when activating or deactivating specific features or options.

Apps can be executed on both the back-end and front-end. User access is managed in the App Manager, which is accessible directly from the App Builder dashboard.

To navigate to the App Builder dashboard

  • Open your WP Data Access dashboard.
  • Click on the App Builder icon on the toolbar.

[A] Create New App ​

[E] View Types for App Containers ​

📂 App View – Indents apps below the App Container (see screenshot: Classic Models and SAS).
📋 List View – Lists all apps that fulfil the actual search conditions.

This search field contains useful search logic. You can search for multiple phrases by adding spaces between them, and you can skip specific phrases by adding a minus in front of it.

Example: wordpress remote -dbs
Result: all databases that contain the phrase WordPress OR remote AND NOT dbs

Filter the app lists to specific app types.

[I] App Type ​

Indicates the app type.

📊 Chart - Create interactive charts with SQL queries using Google Charts.
📝 Data Administration - Manage data with full transaction support through entry forms.
📱 Data App - Bundle multiple apps into one with a dedicated menu.
📋 Data Table - Display a read-only table with detailed views or inline details.
🌎 Map - Visualize location data on Google Maps.
✏️ Registration Form - Allow users to submit new entries to a table via a form.

Click to see more app actions:

📋 Copy App – Creates a copy of an app.
📤 Export App – Exports an app to an SQL file.
📎 Shortcode – Click to copy the app shortcode to your clipboard.
🗑️ Delete – Deletes an app.

📌 To import an app, go to WP Data Access > Data Explorer > click on Import SQL Files. The imported app will appear on your list of Apps on the App Builder dashboard.
